Testimony

For all of those who know me, know that I work as a contractor for the Federal Government. We were told Friday (1-19-18) to keep an eye on the news for information letting us know if the government would get shut down or not. On Friday I was informed that the current projects I am responsible for are not deemed "critical" and therefore I wouldn't be able to work during the shutdown. Over the weekend my hiring manager told me that I couldn't use my Paid Time Off (PTO) and had to use Leave Without Pay (LWOP). I received that email right before getting ready to go to church, so needless to say I went frantic momentarily and then began to pray about it. I was telling God that I know He is my source of any and everything that my family and I will need. Then my family and I went to church and the message was right in line with what I needed to hear. It was focused on Faith and growing in your faith by the trails and tests coming in our lives this year.

Then after church I checked emails to see if there was any status update regarding the government shutdown. Unfortunately there wasn't but there was news that the Senate would vote at 1am on Monday in hopes to reopen the government.

I decided to stay off the computer and enjoy a relaxing evening with my wife and kids watching our Philadelphia Eagles play and defeat the Vikings. I did pray for my Eagles to keep the Vikings to their 7 points the whole game after the first quarter, God is good and he answered that one!

Before going to bed that Sunday evening (1-21-18) I prayed and asked God that if the government is still shutdown on Monday that He quickly allow it to reopen, not only for my sake but for those who will also be affected via financial hardships with the loss of work. Then Monday morning (1-22-18) I go into work and the government officials are signing papers and getting things wrapped up for the shutdown. My boss asks if my contractors were scheduled to work this week or not, and I informed him originally they were but now they most likely wouldn't due to personnel changes. Then about ten (10) minutes later our contracting office calls me to say that my project is now deemed "critical" and I would need to continue work on the project and stay alert to emails. Then at around 9pm today the government was officially back open for normal business. Praise the Lord!

YOU ARE WORTHY GOD OF ALL THE PRAISE AND ALL THE GLORY!!!!

I know this testimony seems lengthy, but what I want you to know and understand is that I am far from perfect but God loves me enough to answer my prayers (having faith He'd do it was key). He still moves in my life and allowed doors to open up for me to be able to continue work and not lose any pay during the shutdown. If He did it for me, trust me He is waiting to do things for you...all He is waiting is for you to ask and have the faith that He will do it! God bless you and have a great evening.
